American Airlines plans to ask the judge in their federal bankruptcy case for clearance to throw out the union contracts if attempts to reach cost-cutting agreements fail, according to the Denver Post. The pilots, flight attendants, and ground workers unions have all been expecting the company, which filed for bankruptcy in November, to ask for relief from the contracts.
